Description
We were driving from our home at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia and traversing narrow, country roads, heading to the nearby city of Roanoke, when we passed the most serene and beautiful scene. I just had to stop and snap some photos. On this particular morning it was actually misting rain and was slightly foggy, but so peaceful and beautiful. I hope that my painting conveys at least some of that peace and tranquility to you. (Rakes Road, Roanoke VA)

Very nice and tranquil.I thought you were going to say this was on a country road near Smith Mt Lake.I once stopped on a back road near the lake and snapped photos to paint.
Donna Tuten replied:
Thank you for the nice comments, Julie! The scenery at the lake and surrounding area is so beautiful. You may need to dig out those photos and paint them!
