FAA First Place Contest Winner - Your Most Fundraising Image - August 23, 2015
"Vinnie" is a 12x12 oil on canvas, my entry for Best in Show 2015, an exhibit of animal art by local artists to benefit the Roanoke Valley SPCA. At least 50 percent commission will be donated to the RVSPCA, or artists can choose to donate 100 percent of the proceeds (as in my case).
Vinnie is a sweet little fellow that was found injured, on the side of the road, with a serious head injury, unable to use his back legs, and extremely neglected. Now, thanks to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, VA, the love and care of his new mom, Tara, and many surgeries later, he is loving life. Tara, an avid supporter of the Animal Welfare League, knew he was a special pup from the moment she met him. His little snorts just melted her heart! About Donna Tuten
Donna Tuten is a painter, working primarily in oils. She currently lives at Smith Mountain Lake in Franklin County, Virginia. After raising a family and moving to the Roanoke Valley from Richmond VA, Donna began to explore her long-held passion for art. She loves travel, and much of her art is inspired by places she has visited. Donna is diverse in subject matter and style. Water, glass and its reflections, vineyards, animals, florals and landscapes are among her favorite subjects. Her style varies between realism, impressionism and expressionism, depending on her mood.
