Spectacular rendering of the cutlery, Donna -- but I believe this is the commonly used signal for a waiter to remove the dish -- after we've finished eating... (it doesn't diminish your achievement at all!)

Hi Donna, my teenage daughter really likes your work and has chosen this piece to write her art analysis for one of her exams. She would like know who your artistic influences have been and what piece inspired you to create "let's eat"? Are you able to provide us with your thoughts?
Donna Tuten replied:
Wow, I am so honored that your daughter likes my work enough to write an analysis on my painting. Artists that have most influenced me are actually two local artists with whom I have studied, Terry Lyon and Janet Wimmer. Out of the more well-known artists, I have always loved Monet, although this piece has no resemblance to his work. There was not necessarily a specific piece of art that inspired "Let's Eat," but the fact that my son and his girlfriend bought a new home and their kitchen theme was cutlery. I set up a still life and took many photos before finding just the right composition. The green background was actually my boyfriend's shirt that happened to be in the kitchen as I was snapping photos. I loved the color so I decided to use it. I hope this information will be helpful. I would love to read her analysis when she is finished if she would be kind enough to forward it to me. If you have any further questions, please let me know. Good luck!
