This “Happy Sunflower Faces” painting was inspired by a recent drive I took through Bedford County, Virginia, not far from my home. As I was traveling down Route 460, I spotted this lovely field of sunflowers. It instantly brightened my day. I stopped and snapped some photos, knowing that I would later attempt to recreate the scene in oils. This was the second piece I painted from that day. I hope that this painting will lift your spirits as much as the actual scene did for me!
