There's a story behind this painting. I cut fresh peonies from my backyard, took them to the studio and proceeded to paint one bloom. At some point I became somewhat frustrated. I would paint some, go to another area on the canvas, decide that something was definitely off, try to correct it, and then it kept happening. I soon discovered that the bloom had gone from about half open to fully open while I was painting it. No wonder I was having a hard time! Lesson learned. :-)

This painting is on gallery-wrapped canvas with painted sides and is ready to hang without framing.
