I painted this beautiful scene after visiting historic Pharsalia Plantation in Nelson County, Virginia, in March 2015. It was the very beginning of spring and just before the trees and flowers would come to life. When we first arrived, it was a misty, foggy morning. Shortly thereafter, however, the fog lifted, the sun began to shine, and my boyfriend, Doug Frassa, snapped the beautiful photograph from which this scene was painted.
